Experienced Math teacher in Kuwait.
Summary: I have been a math teacher for 28 years. My math career started at a private school in South Africa where I taught high school math to Sotho students, one of the ethnic groups. This was a good experience that prepared me to work with different cultural groups. For 10 years, I taught high school math from grade 8 to 12. During that time, I was the subject head for grade 8 math. I also enjoyed coaching athletics and cross country outside the classroom. I also taught at the American Creativity Academy in Kuwait for 7 years. Teaching in Kuwait taught me that no matter where you are in the world, all students have the same psychological and social needs. In Kuwait, I taught all levels of mathematics from pre-algebra, algebra 1, algebra 2, geometry, pre-calculus, and IB Math SL. From 2015 to 2017, I taught middle school math for grade 7, 8, and 9 students at the Internationella Engelska Skolan in Stockholm and Halmstad, Sweden. During this time, I learned about the benefits and joys of co-teaching. The Swedish curriculum places a lot of emphasis on problem-solving in math from a very young age. In Sweden, I learned how to use hands-on activities as strategies to foster problem-solving skills. From 2017 to 2018, I taught at The Carlsbad International School in Karlovy Vary, Czech Republic. I taught the IGCSE for Pre-DP students and IB Math SL 1 and 2. Currently, I am teaching at The American School of Kuwait since 2019. I am teaching calculus, pre-calculus, and algebra 2. I believe teaching in four different countries makes me a well-rounded teacher. I have learned a lot about different cultures. Teaching students from multiple nationalities has opened my eyes to how different cultural societies view math. Life as a teacher begins the day you realize that you are always a learner.

  • Algebra, Arithmetic, Calculus, Coordinate Geometry, Differential Equations, Trigonometry
Mathematics and science tutor, A* Mathematics student from primary school up to university.
Hi, my name is Dalal Murad. I am currently a physics university student in the UK, taking a gap year in Kuwait. I am very passionate about teaching and believe in combining fun with learning. I believe that learning is a skill that can be acquired through practice and by finding our own unique learning style. I have recently achieved the following grades: A*AB in Applied Mathematics, Pure Mathematics, and Physics, at RQF level 3 (A levels). I personally faced challenges with learning and academic performance, even while achieving high grades. Due to my ADHD, I experienced inattentiveness and hyperactivity in class, making it difficult for me to complete homework and listen to my teachers. As a result, I had to discover alternative learning methods. I conducted extensive research on effective learning techniques, attended seminars, and participated in extracurricular activities and courses focused on education, especially for children with learning difficulties. Through my experience of volunteering with kids with special needs over the past 7 years, I have learned how to be patient with children and teach them new skills through play, acting, and music. I am eager to pass on my knowledge and the lessons I have learned, while encouraging students to strive for improvement and believe in their own potential. I offer various types of lessons, including online, private, or group lessons with friends, all available at discounted rates.
